The Ocean Alexander 420 Sun Deck Motor Yacht checks all of the boxes. It has a sun deck, cockpit, and swim platform so it is a very versatile vessel. With a bridge clearance of 16’1” it is capable to do America’s Great Loop. It is a very manageable size, with good sight lines while cruising. The inside lower helm gives you an option for cruising in foul weather.

Happy Place has two staterooms and two heads, both with separate stall showers, so it is perfect for a cruising couple or family. It has the power to cross to the islands or traverse the Gulf at a comfortable cruising speed of 9.5-10 knots, or pick up the pace when it needs to get where it is going!

The original owner of Happy Place owned her for 30 years. He was directly involved in her design and construction and made numerous trips to Taiwan to witness the construction.   He was an airplane pilot and very conscientious about maintenance and safety. The oil on this vessel has been changed every 100 hours, without fail. 

The current owners are very experienced and knowledgeable sailors who spent years sailing in the BVIs and USVIs. It was a “bucket list” item to live-aboard a motor yacht in the Bahamas. They purchased Happy Place in 2021 and just returned from the Bahamas in June 2022. They are now ready to begin some land cruising, so Happy Place is now available.   

The owner reports that Happy Place tops out at 2300-2400 RPM. They cruise comfortably at 9.5-10 knots at 1900 RPM with a fuel burn rate of 1.5 miles per gallons.  Make her your Happy Place!
