Built in New Jersey, Novel Idea is a Silverton 41 Convertible. She is a versatile flybridge cruiser with a roomy cockpit, the look of an offshore fishing boat, and a good turn of speed with upgraded twin diesel Caterpillar engines. The cockpit of Novel Idea has many features which make her ready for a day of fishing, including: an in-sole fish box, a bait station and sink, a fresh and raw water wash down, rod holders in the coamings, tackle storage, and a transom door to the swim platform. The flybridge has lounge seating forward of the helm. This upgraded model was outfitted with optional 425hp Cat diesels which allow Novel Idea to cruise at 24-25 knots.
The interior of Novel Idea features two staterooms and a single head. The galley and dinette are forward, three steps down from the open salon. The dinette is able to convert to a berth. An island berth is located in the master stateroom, while the guest stateroom is fitted with over/under berths.
