The 2003 Tiara 3800 Open – Sailor and the Saint has all the hardcore fishing capabilities with beautifully crafted interiors. Like all of Tiara’s Open models, the 3800 was offered as a tournament-ready fishing machine or equipped with the cruising amenities of a comfortable family express. A huge U-shaped settee to starboard, opposite the galley, dominates the elegant single-stateroom interior. There’s a separate stall shower in the head, and the beautiful teak-and-holly cabin sole gives the interior of the 3800 a traditional feel found in a few other boats. (Note that an alternate floorplan introduced in 2003 has a smaller head but adds a portside settee). The entire helm deck lifts mechanically for easy access to the large engine room. Additional features include a hideaway TV in the salon, a cockpit wet bar, a fold-down transom seat, transom door and shower, side exhausts, and wide side decks. Prop pockets reduce the shaft angles and draft. Cummins 480hp diesels cruise the Tiara 3800 at 25-26 knots.
